The Stiftungsfonds Deutsche Bank is one of the biggest sponsors of the program of the Stifterverbandes für die Deutsche Wissenschaft and also invests in a number of other undertakings.
In the shared belief of making an effective contribution to scientific research and practical teaching of responsible corporate governance in the global economy, the Stiftungsfonds Deutsche Bank and the ESMT European School of Management and Technology Berlin have agreed to establish and support an endowed chair in 2021. The Deutsche Bank Professorship in Sustainable Finance focuses on the importance of the financial sector for a sustainable and green transformation and on the impact mechanisms of this change. Since September 1, 2022, the professorship has been occupied by Prof. Jörg Rocholl, PhD. Rocholl has been President of ESMT Berlin since 2011. He is also deputy chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board at the Federal Ministry of Finance, research fellow at the Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and research member of the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI).
Since 2000, the Stiftungsfonds Deutsche Bank has supported the Center for Financial Studies (CFS) at the Goethe University Frankfurt. The CFS conducts independent and internationally oriented research on important topics in the field of finance. It serves as a forum for dialogue between science, politics and the financial industry. It also offers a platform for high-quality basic and applied research that is important for the European financial sector. Since 2008, the CFS has been located in the House of Finance on the Westend campus of the Goethe University Frankfurt. The House of Finance brings together several interdisciplinary research and further education activities in the field of finance and financial law at Goethe University under one roof.
ESMT educates entrepreneurial leaders who think globally, act responsibly and respect the individual. ESMT develops and imparts new knowledge to foster sustainable economic growth, incorporating the values and the potential of technology to promote a balanced economic development. From 2015 till 2019, the Stiftungsfonds Deutsche Bank is providing ESMT with a total of 360,000 euros.
